all hand sewn, hand drawn, and watercolor on handmade cotton paper

I wish that I could figure out how to post my flickr images on the new blogger interface instead of uploading from my computer. I love the new layout but I like that my images are larger when using flickr...however when I put the code into the blog post in the new format, only the link appears as opposed to the image...does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

The octopus is nearllyyy finished. I am still being fairly nitpicky over the last bit of details. Le petit renard is based on one of my favorite stories, Le petit prince.It is still super in progress…a lot of detailing to come! And watercolors too.
It says - Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu’avec le cœur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. “Here is my secret. It is very simple: One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.”

I think that marbling is one of my least favorite things to do to decorate paper. However, I like how it sort of bleeds through to the other side.

small updates

Working - slowly but surely. November 5th J. Hamilton and I will be down in St Petersburg at a craft market selling all our handmade goods! I have started too many new pieces and I need to buckle down to finish them before we head down there. We also have a date to make some kudzu paper before the market!

Here is a picture from First Friday! And two (finally) finished pieces! I am working on my Etsy shop today so there will be updates soon! And I am a little sleep deprived and sick so I will be wrapped up in blankets on the couch, drinking copious amounts of coffee, and probably watching Hocus Pocus, Teen Witch, Monster Squad...etc etc. ...while working.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! And thank you to all my friends and to all the wonderful new people I met who came out last night!

sewing, sewing, sew;

So I inherited my grandmother Paula's sewing kit and I will be excitedly working on some new custom laptop cases (especially for those of us who are unfortunate to be fortunate with the 15/17" laptops who's cases are all but charming) and within the next few months I will be working on setting up my very own Etsy shop! I also will be working on making some more handmade paper and making journals and possibly some paper lanterns! :) So, please keep a look out! Oh, and I am in the works of setting up a booth with a fellow seamstress at the flea market in Brooklyn! Keep an ear out, folks!
